Hope & Harvest: A Fundraiser for Haywood Christian Ministry on the Anniversary of Hurricane Helene

  • The Ten Acre Garden 148 Chambers Farm Lane Canton, NC, 28716 United States (map)

Well, friends.

Here we are, almost a year out from the first anniversary of Hurricane Helene and it has been on my heart to share our space and honor the anniversary in a way where community can come together, like we did during and after Helene.

So along with Haywood Christian Ministry, we are hosting a fundraiser to support HCM, farmers, food, and families in Haywood County and we would love for you to join us.

We invite you and a car load of friends and family to join us Sunday, September 28th from 3-7pm. We will have live music from Paul Koptak and The Miller Sisters, along with BBQ plates available for purchase and a cash bar. We ask that no outside food or alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages be brought in but all can be purchased on site. Entry is a suggested donation of $10 per car and ALL proceeds go to funding Haywood Christian Ministries.

This one, this one is personal. After Helene, during our first season and our first fall here in the Garden, we saw HCM supporting local farms and farmers and thus families directly impacted by Helene by buying produce grown by the hands of our friends, neighbors, and ourselves and in turn feeding the community. We have since toured the food hub and are in awe of just how many lives are impacted by HCM. And we want to help support their mission as we go into the harvest season in a way that also brings people together.

What we saw and experienced in the weeks and months of recovery--and if we are all being honest, we are still in recovery--was that being part of a community who loves and supports each other, especially in the greatest times of needs, are strong and resilient. It doesn't make it any easier, but it's nice to not go through these times alone.

So please, join us in the Garden Saturday, September 28th for hugs, for tears, for smiles, and great food, drinks, and music to show that we are indeed strong and resilient and to support an outstanding cause.

Mark you calendars. Tell your friends. Share with your community.

See you in the Garden.
