Sun Prints in the Garden is a 2-hour session where participants will learn how to create cameraless photographs using materials found right here on the farm 🌿. We’ll explore the full cyanotype process — exposing and processing paper using both natural sunlight and artificial light sources.

Together we will honor the first day of autumn 🌾 by collecting flowers & foliage 🍁🌿 to create beautiful paper 📜. Unique, fall inspired paper crafts will be taught including seed paper you’ll be able to grow at home 🌱, paper made from colorful leaf pulp 🍃🎨, chai tea scented paper ☕🍂, and a kit with instructions to make your very own autumn wreath 🍁 using the paper you made at the workshop.

☀️ World Cyanotype Day: A Sun Powered Workshop with Sarah Jones Decker
This hands-on cyanotype workshop explores the magic of the 19th-century camera-less photographic process. We will create together using sunlight, UV lights, iron-salt chemicals, and pressed botanical items.
Sarah Jones Decker is a visual storyteller based in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. She is an award-winning photographer, published author, farmer and occasional tintype alchemist in studio 105 at Marshall High Studios.

Fall Festival
It’s our biggest event of the year, Fall Festival, the highlight of the fall season! We welcome in the gorgeous changing leaves with Fall Foliage Farm Tours every hour, offer pumpkins, squash and gourds for sale, harvested from our fields, grown with organic practices, and host a curated Vendor Market with 20-30 local artisans, bakers, makers, and crafters from all over Western North Carolina, curated to fit in with the feel of our farm. Join us all day for u-pick dahlias and annual cut flowers, hop on a wagon ride and enjoy the gorgeous 360 degree views of the mountains, stay for a farm to brick oven pizza, made from scratch with ingredients grown with organic practices right here on the farm, and enjoy live music from 3-6pm. Come enjoy a fall day in the mountains at The Ten Acre Garden!
